Frank Primeggia has been writing songs for over 25 years.
A music lover as a child, he began composing in his teens
and founded Top Secret,
the rock band, with his song-writing partner, T. Motts, in the early eighties.
Throughout the 1980's and into the early 90's, Primeggia wrote, or co-wrote,
over two hundred songs for Top Secret, including songs for Confidentially
Yours, released as
an EP in 1985. Also during those years, he and Top Secret built up
a devoted folllowing and received radio airplay on college stations in Washington,
New York and Pennsylvania, appeared on two New York TV Shows, and performed
at the Village Gate, Kenny's Castaways, L'Amours and many more New York City
and tri-state area hot spots.
In 1994, Frank established his own band, Dead Center, while still a rock-and-roll band, Frank brought a sound to this band just a bit more grown up. Dead Center caught on and performed throughout clubs in Manhattan and Brooklyn for five years, until Frank went solo in the year 2000.
Today Primeggia, still solo and completely on his own, presents his introduction CD, Simply Frank. In Simply Frank, Brooklyn-Born and bred, Primeggia cooly mixes his tough-guy street-smart persona with head-over-heels-in-love lyrics, in a rock oriented collection of songs from his heart. Given free reign, Frank dabbles in varying styles and sounds, but always comes back to his rock-infused roots., while combining horns, strings, and acoustic rhythms. Many musicians whom Primeggia collaberated with during the past 15 years , came together to play on this CD, including several amzing members from Dead Center. The outstanding performances these people gave to this CD, are worth their weight in gold, and Frank thanks them all from the bottom of his heart.
